Larry Ahrens is
the Executive V.P./Marketing of Greenleaf Nursery near Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  Larry will be speaking at our monthly meeting about new varieties.

Dr. Carl Whitcomb
is famous for his crapemyrtle breeding, creation of Lacebark Inc., a horticultural research company, and author of numerous plant books.  This will be one meeting you won't want to miss!

Russell Studebaker is the former
senior horticulturist from Tulsa Parks and Recreation Department. He is a well-known garden writer and speaker, for the Tulsa World.  Studebaker has over 40 years of garden experience...this will be another great speaker.

July 1, 2009
Dr. Mike Schnelle
serves as professor and extension specialist at OSU, in the Dept of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. He is also the Conservator of Woody Plant Collections for the Oklahoma Garden & Arboretum Statewide System. Mike will be sharing his knowledge in all areas of ornamental horticulture, from flowers to trees.

August 5, 2009
Laura Bruner has a landscape design and consulting company, Two Trees Designs, in Dallas. Her topic will be landscape design. Dr. Bruner formerly was with the Horticulture Dept. at the University of Auburn in Georgia.

September 2, 2009
Jason Griffin
is the Director Assistant Professor, Ornamentals and Woody Plants Research Scientist at Kansas State University.  His great interest in field trials and his willingness to assist the industry and home owners in the Central Plains will be a wonderful learning experience for our group.

Steve Dobbs is a former host of OK Gardening, an award-winning horticulturist, writer and lecturer. Dobbs is currently
Plant Operations Director for the University of Arkansas at Ft. Smith and also Director of Grounds and Landscape. the University has won prestigious awards for floral displays and campus grounds enhancements under his leadership.

Steve
Bieberich is co-owner of Sunshine Nursery in Clinton, Oklahoma.  The nursery specializes in native plants and plants that are well adapted to our challenging Oklahoma climate. Steve and his crew grow a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and perennials.
